Take the Time

This weekend Coy and I headed to meet his family for a cousin's wedding. What a wonderful time. I was able to spend some time with many of Coy's close and extended family memebers. I especially enjoyed visiting with Coy's 87 year old grandmother and Coy's great aunt Pat. Pat and I have been pen pals for the last two years, it was such a pleasure to get to meet her. She is such a sweet woman. Coys family and us all stayed at a vacant house in the town we visited. It was like a camp out, indoors. We all had our air beds blown up in the living room and talked and giggled as we all fell asleep. Even my little nephew Jakob joined in on the chatting, even though he only says "Daa, Daa" It was still entertaining. Just taking the time to pause and appreciate the family that God has blessed me with through Coy was fun. While I was visiting with Coy's grandma and aunt I realized what a treasure to hear memories, and stories from the past of this family. Things that happened before I joined in on the fun, but can now be a part of as history is passed on to me and we will pass it on to our children. Family is a treasure. Always remember to take the time to smell the roses while they are near.
