The Mason's

What would Christmas be without those good ole family photos. We always spend Christmas eve with my Grandma Mason. She is so wonderful... the picture perfect grandma. Coffee time is served daily at her house at 10 a.m. and supper is at 6 sharp. Anytime she makes ham and beans she makes a double batch for my parents.. have for 30 years. It's wonderful. My Grandpa was the sweetest man. He loved to golf and took us once a year when we were little. When we went along we got to drive the cart. We thought it was the best thing in the world. Christmas Eve with my Grandpa was always the highlight. He was always just as excited as us.. and as we grew older we loved watching Grandpa more than opening our own gifts. In our family we have this tradition that we open gifts around the circle, one at a time so we can all watch and see what each person gets. Grandpa would always break the rule... by being sneaking and quietly opening his gift and when it was his turn he'd smile this big guilty smile and let out the greatest giggle and show us what he had gotten. Even though he didn't need a thing we always tried to buy him the most... because we loved watching him open. Without him Christmas eve will probably never be the same. This year as we started opening our gifts I looked over at my youngest brother who was sitting in Grandpa's chair and sobbing... just missing the man that meant so much to us all and made Christmas Eve such a special time each year. We miss you gramps!!!Thanks for the fabulous memories!
