My Patient

My sweet husband had knee surgery on Tuesday. He had some cartlidge that had worn away around his knee. There was a lot more missing than they had originally thought. It is a strange feeling to have the most important being on this earth in my life being in surgery. Towards the end of the whole surgery I started to get nervous. What if something went wrong. Nothing did, but by the time I finally got to see him my eyes were welling up with tears. It was nice to stop and think of all of the joys that my husband brings to my life. He is a wonderful friend and such a great man. That is one very positive thing that has occured due to our move...... we do rely on each other more now than ever. We only have each other here to lean on. We have had three days at home now together. We've been watching movies. I have to use a special ice machine on Coy's knee and he has to be in a movement machine for 8 hours everyday. Basically we park ourselves in our family room for the day and stay put. I've really enjoyed being able to stay here with him and care for him. After I almost passed out from seeing some blood, almost wrecking my car in the snow storm that hit the evening I was driving C home from surgery, stopping at Target for his prescription and stopped to grab a Christmas present and I layed his wallet down and remembered later I didn't have it, luckily it was still where I had left it. Things are going well now, and C is on the road to recovery. Here is a photo of my sweet patient.
