Our Mourning Town

Luke and I are enjoying our stay in Iowa. We are visiting family and friends. It has been a great trip thus far. Our town did receive some very sad news, we've lost one of our finest here in New Sharon. Jace Carrico passed away last night. He was 9 years old. He had been fighting a tumor for the past 5 years. He had such an awesome personality, and comes from a wonderful family. Please pray for this family. They have been so brave and trusted in the Lord. It seems like there is a stillness today, not that normal buzz that is going at this time of day in the air. The whole town had rallied around Jace and it was as if everyone here did there best to love and know this special guy. It is too much to wrap my brain around at this point. Life is strange. On a day where we are waiting for cells to help save Brenda's life and little boy loses his life, but then that is not how I should see it, because really he has gained the best life, eternal life, and today he is not in pain, he won't have to go to doctors and be treated with chemo, radiation, or wonder when the next pin prick will be. He is doing what he was created to do, playin drums with Jesus. God knows when we begin and he knows when our lives end. So that is what he planned for Jace and looking at Jace's website and seeing already the loads of emails that people have left... it is evident that God knew what he was doing, sending a child to be a witness for him. Pretty amazing.
Coy has lost so many people close to him, his dad, 2 uncles that he adored, a cousin and her child, yet there is not one ounce of bitterness in his heart. He amazes me. It is hard for me to think of losing people close to me, and when I have, it has been so tough. Coy just knows that God has a plan and can accept that well. He has taught me a lot! This summer we are learning more and more to treasure life, it is precious, it IS a gift, and let's just let the little things go, and cling to the good things and above all Love one another...
