Firsts

I am always thinking of things to write on here, but just have a hard time finding the time to get it updated. We have only 18 days until Luke's first birthday. I find myself just wishing to relive the day he was born, although at the time it was very overwhelming, I'd take it all back if I could. I LOVE the stage he is at, he is such a blast, he will copy face I make and crinkle up his nose and smile. He's silly, which he couldn't get from me (haha). Yesterday he was playing with his ball and stood up to the piano and put the ball at one end of the keyboard and then started playing, is he a perfect mix of Coy and I or what???
The pictures above are of his new hair cut he got several weeks ago, he was very proud of it.
Feb 21 we went to S. Dakota for my Auntie Linda's birthday. It was wonderful to take Luke there as it has always been a place I love to go. Linda was surprised and cried when we walked in the door, it was awesome to be able to let her know how special she is. Luke took his first steps at her house. My brother Joel had done the same things years ago, our cousins had been walking him around and he took steps. That is how it worked for Luke as well, he had been walked around with different people throughout the day and decided to give it a whirl... it was wonderful. Beings that we live so far away I just automatically felt like everyone would miss out on things he did, but God has allowed our family to see a lot of his accomplishments, which means a lot to Coy and I.
It is in the 70s today, so beautiful. It has been warm the past few days, we have the windows open and have been enjoying being outside. I've been working on painting my kitchen, it is going from yellow to green. I love how it is turning out. It makes my cupboards look really nice, compliments them better than the yellow.
Well I'd better run as I hear my little guy waking up from his nap. Hello to Grandma Trudy as I found out she's a reader:) Love you!!

  • So Cute!!

He is truly looking like a little man. Can't believe he is a year old already! Time flies 3x as fast when you have kids. I wish that we could make it for his bday but with Kirk in track it is hard to get away. We sure are enjoying Grandma Chicken, but as usual her time here goes way to fast and she is leaving us tomorrow. Hopefully she will be seeing her Lukie Bear soon as I know she misses him!! Take care and we hope to see you soon. Kirk, Leigh and Girls
