Birthdays
The first year milestone is approaching. Luke is going to be one in less than a week. Sunday is his birthday, and we are very excited. All of my family will be here, plus my grandmas and my aunt and uncle.... I could just burst with excitment. However it is also a time where we are really missing Brenda and noticing her absence. She loved celebrating the kids and especially this birthday being Luke's first would have been special for her. Her birthday is the 20th of this month. We are planning to make lasagna as she always made the best lasagna for Coy and I when we would go home to visit. We are going to release balloons to heaven to celebrate her. I've thought about tagging them with something so if someone finds them they will know they were released in Brenda's memory. We found an awesome song by Alan Jackson named "Sissy's Song" can you believe the name... and it is perfect for Sissy. Here are the lyrics:
Why did she have to go
So young I just don't know why
Things happen half the time
Without reason without rhyme
Lovely, sweet young woman
Daughter, wife and mother
Makes no sense to me
I just have to believe
She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels
By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees
And she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waiting
And I know she's smiling saying
Don't worry 'bout me
Loved ones she left behind
Just trying to survive
And understand the why
Feeling so lost inside
Anger shot straight at God
Then asking for His love
Empty with disbelief
Just hoping that maybe
She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels
By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees
And she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waiting
And I know she's smiling saying
Don't worry 'bout me
It's hard to say goodbye
Her picture in my mind
Will always be of times I'll cherish
And I won't cry 'cause
She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels
By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees
And she walks with jesus and her loved ones waiting
And I know she's smiling saying
Don't worry 'bout me
Don't worry 'bout me
Don`t worry 'bout me
(Thanks Dana for sending those to me:)
I've also been thinking of so many things I wished I would have talked with Brenda about or celebrated with her, I'm not sure I celebrated her birthday with her in the time I knew her. It is hard to keep going, knowing that for the rest of our lives on earth we will have a piece missing from our hearts and our family. Someone so very special that we will just tell people about. I just keep thinking it is a bad dream and we will see her any day. It makes me think of the song "oh what a day of rejoicing it will be, when we all get to heaven" we will have forever to catch up. I look forward to that
Sissy I'm missing you more than ever, but know you're watching us and waiting for us!
Love you!!

We send balloons to Ryder on the 4th of the month (the day they were born), there is just something about a balloon that is the only thing that I feel can reach them! We even had balloons put on his headstone. I write him a letter every month, photo copy it, and place it in the balloon and pray that our Heavenly Father will make sure it gets into his arms! We will always miss Brenda, she was always the light at the end of our 17 hour trek!
